Hello Ladies! A big "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY" to the moms!!! I think most moms, and women in general, tend to be worried about many things. This next chapter should be good for us all. Chapter 12: An Anxious and Worried Mind.
Be blessed!

Mostly my worry is about my kids and grandkids knowing and walking with the Lord. If there is anything I can say or do to impart, guide or protect them to take serious how important it is to guard their hearts! I know too much from life on how subtle and destructive the enemy can be to polute our minds against God and His ways with obvious things, not so obvious things and "religious" boxes that would keep us from truly knowing Him. Besides that I don't get stuck in worrying about stuff.
After reading this chapter, I now wonder how much is worry, and how much is concern. I thought that I worried alot about my sons, but I have prayed for them, and I know God has heard my prayers. He has the answer for both of them, (even if it isn't what I would want, but He knows what is best for them). Once you give it to the Lord, you should trust in Him for the answer. I try to do that with everything in my life.
Planning for tomorrow, is time well spent; worrying about tomorrow is time wasted. Serve and obey Him, and He will help you get rid of your worries.

The first statement in this chapter hit me like a ton of bricks and I got mad (at the enemy). "Anxiety and worry are both attacks on the mind intended to distract us from serving the Lord." Since my desire is to live up to my full potential and destiny, I'm going to resist anxiety and worry when they try to enter my mind.
Also, the statement, "The Word coming forth out of a believer's mouth, with faith to back it up, is the single most effective weapon that can be used to win the war against worry and anxiety." Romans 12:2 says that we are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds and I know of no other way to do this than reading, meditating, praying over, and speaking the Word of God.

I don't think there is anything wrong with having concern. But when you dwell on it and you just continue to worry then you carry a burden too big. We should think about the future and plan ahead but don't worry about every detail and if God will provide. He will! I can get worried about the day I lose a loved one. I find myself in tears sometimes seeing the "movie screen" images in my mind of how I will handle receiving devastating news. Then I catch myself and remember those thoughts are not from the Lord and I only need to be concerned with today. I like it when Joyce says that God gives us enough Grace for today, but tomorrow's Grace will not come until tomorrow comes - so don't waste today! I think she's talking about serious worrying. She's not talking about concern or planning for the future.
So, enjoy God's Grace today and receive all of the little blessings each day brings.
