Battlefield of the Mind, Chapter 14 Discussion

Hello Ladies! Let us move on to Chapter 14 : A Passive Mind.

I have felt passive before and I have also felt very tough. I'm curious to see what we learn from this chapter.

Have a blessed week!

One of the greatest truths to enter my thinking is I CAN CHOOSE MY OWN THINKING. There is so much power against the enemy by knowing this and practicing it. One of the first things this chapter stresses is fan the flame and stir up the gift that is within us. (II Tim. 1:6) I take this to mean that each of us is given a measure of faith (Romans 12:3) and I can stir it up by believing God's Word, lining my thinking up with His, and bonding with His values. All other stuff can be thrown out of my mind. When I am practicing this regularly, I am activly seeking God's Kingdom and booting passivity out of my life. This chapter was a wonderful reminder to "fight the good fight of faith."

Wow! I wasn't expecting to learn so much! There have been MANY times in my life when I felt empty. I would lose motivation and become discouraged or depressed. Like Joyce says, if you leave your mind empty then Satan can fill it with garbage! Too often I have focused on not thinking bad things and I've forgotten to replace bad thoughts with good ones. To fill that "empty space".

Also daydreaming. I have done that too! Thinking about how it could be and what I wish life could be like. Well, that will only set you up for disappointment with your life. Focus on what it real and good in your life!

Good stuff! :)
