These wilderness mentalities are great to remember! Let's learn about the second one. "Someone do it for me. I don't want to take the responsibility." OUCH! This one already stings!
Be blessed!

Well, I have my parents to thank for instilling in me the importance of responsibility. I was responsible for managing my allowance (15 cents per week), caring for my clothes and possessions, completing school assignments, making curfew, and earning extra spending money. I am so very grateful because that provided a good start to being responsible in God's Kingdom, where I found the stakes to be higher. Now, I must adhere to God's requirements: Keep doing the right thing when I don't feel like it. Exercising faith in the face of difficult circumstances. Keeping my commitments when I'm tired and discouraged. This chapter emphasized casting your care on God, but not your responsibility. I find that is a delicate balance. What do I leave in God's hands and what do I take care of? I think this is a lifetime of learning.
Love to all fellow pilgrims,

Hey look! I am still here!!!
Sorry I have kind of been a lurker lately, but I promise I have been reading and following along. I am just getting over being terribly ill...and am finally able tosit at my computer for more than a few minutes.
My take on responsibility is as follows:
I may not have had exactly stellar examples of this in my growing up years, and it seems that I have learned responsibility in spite of my upbringing, rather than because of it. Thus, I am determined to help my children learn to be responsible, as well as respectable.
To me responsibility is in being kind to others, as well as making sure one's obligations are met. But it also means trying to not live outside one's means and trying to do the right thing, even when it seems doing wrong is easier.
I hope any of that makes any sense...I think I am rambling again.
I had a very tiring day full of lab work and it has just tired me out. Think I should probably go lay back don for a while!

Indeed Responsibility is so important! But even when you want to be responsible it's easy to get lazy. I have always been pretty responsible but I've had my moments when I just didn't care and I would not see much joy and blessing in my life either. Just like a new baby can be such a blessing, it's also a HUGE responsibility. God offers help when we need encouragment. We still have to do the work but when we are not mentally burdened then that work seems a lot more tolerable.
Three cheers for responsibility!
