Let's move on to Wilderness Mentality # 3. "Please make everything easy; I can't take it if things are too hard!" It sounds like this ties in with the responsibility issue and becoming lazy. Let's see what we can learn and share.

I like Joyce's take on entering the Promised Land. We still have battles to be fought and overcome but the difference is now we do it in God's strength. The path is so much harder when I feel like I have to depend on myself, then realizing I don't have what it takes. So, I have to take a step of faith and believe God when He says He will help me. This is part of renewing the mind - believing what God says and acting on it. It takes perserverance and practice - one situation at a time.
Sometimes we get frustrated when we can't get to the Promised Land right away. We don't realize that God is teaching us a preparing us for what He has for us. No Pain, No Gain! I always say "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I was especially saying that a few days ago as I was mountain biking and I knew I didn't have the skill or strength to do it alone. God is a helper indeed! We just have to rely on Him and be Patient in all things.
